Issue 1 (What is film? How do you define film? Is it really as it seems?) {Abdulrehman}

Good morning, everyone! Imagine the time when many artist like Leonardo de Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and many others had to draw potraits and scenes by hand. Afterall, it was a skill. But out of nowher this.....this.... camera thing was invented and all these poor artists had to pachk their things and go. Ta- ta, bye-bye! And then emerged photographers and later, cinimatographers.

My dear friends, let me introduce to a very interesting fact. Many of you might think that films are moving pictures. But dear fellows, the truth is far from how you look at the scenario. Films are actually a series of fast moving pictures merged together so the play after one another at about a rate of 15 pictures per second. You are actually being decieved by what you see. Mind blowing, isn't it?

Now my friend Meerab Shahid would tell you about the second issue, How did it all start, by the way?

Issue 2 (Who invented it? How did it come into existence? How did it all start?) {Meerab}

Good morning, friends! As my fellow has already told you, I'll tell you about the begining of films. For films to be invented, firstly, camera had to be invented. For this I'd like to thank the Englishman William Fox Talbot, who discovered a way to put pictures on paper. The first "movie making machine" was devaloped by Thomas Edison called the Kinetoscope, in 1891 Four years later, French inventors Louis and Auguste Lumiere demonstrated the camera-projector called the cinematographe. And can you believe the length of the first motion picture which was created by Edwin Potter? It was just eight minutes and was called The Great Train Robbery (1903).

Now my classmate, Abdullah Razi Ahmad would tell you about the earliest comi film and some revolutions to the film industry. But mind you, he is a bit eccentric!

Issue 3 (What was the first comic film? When did movies start to release along with soundtracks and how?) {Abdullah}

Top of the morning to you, fellas! Let me introduce you to the first comic character in film industry, Charlie Chaplin! His real name was Sir Charles Chaplin and was the ruler of the silent era of film making. Yes, I know you must be puzzled. The first flms were actually silent and imagine the calibre of this man, who, in such circumstances, produced such comic films which are rembered to the present day.

Now getting to the point. How did these films start being released with sound tracks? This all happened when a frenchman started to fall in love with his wife's singing abilities and produced a sound recording machine and recorded the sound of his wife singing an old french folk song, Au Clair de la Lune. And this was it. Booom! Wham! And so, the film industry was revolutionized and the first film with soundtrack was released in 1927, namely, The Jazz Singer. This is such a masterpiece that I would personally have wanted to invite you to my home where we would see this film together, you see my address is.......(All the classmates: Ahemmmmmm!) Oh sorry, sorry! I got of the track. Let's see who's here to discuss the 4th issue. Mr. Hurmain Gujjar, If you don't mind, step forward please.

Issue 4 (What was the time when India ruled over the film industry? What were the advancements in animatesd movies industry?) {Hurmain Aslam}

Good Morning, students! The cinemas kept on gaining popularty with more and more advancements in film making techniques. There came a time when Indian and Pakistani film industry ruled over the film industry by making films such as Chetan Anand's Neecha Nagar (1946).

The cinema and films constantly kept at a more or less same rate until Pixar animation studios revolutionized the animated film industry by producind Toy Story in 1995. This introduced many new 3D techniques in the animated film industry and a greate number of masterpieces has been produced since then like Despicable Me and Wall-E by Disney studios.

Friends, you must have got all about the history of film industry now. But what about the future prospect? Many say it has got a major portion to do with 3d graphis. A sub-category of such people thinks that maybe 3d animated movies would take the place of "real" films. But many other people, includind me, believe that anything is possible and we keep our fingers crossed for revolutions such as those which took pace in the past.
